My name is Chana. My husband Assaf was diagnosed with cancer. It was a complete shock for us, he had no prior symptoms and he seemed to be completely healthy.
Since the diagnosis, I spend my days with him in the hospital, helping him to cope with his treatments. It has been very painful to see what was once a strong young man become so frail. Assaf can no longer provide for our family, his entire day is dedicated to keeping himself alive.
Our children are, of course, frightened. We do our best to give them a normal life, but most of our time is spent in the hospital. All the money that we have has gone toward Assaf's treatments. Now we are forced to rely on the kindness of chessed organizations who do things like donate clothing and shoes, send suppers, and arrange transportation.
Please, if you can help us, it would mean so much. The cancer itself is painful for all of us and affects the whole family, but most of all we fear for my husband’s life.
